Taiwan is so confusing. Their flag carrier is „China Airlines“ and their official name is Republic of China.

    2. I believe the recent provocations from Japan and Taiwan against S.Korea are coordinated, and I believe there’s a reason why it comes specifically after the APEC summit. Korea has never recognized Taiwan after 1992 and Taiwan is already well aware of this. The two are insecure about the American deep state, the intelligence agencies, the Pentagon, Elbridge Colby and others, Trump administration, all starting to view South Korea in a different light compared to other countries. It’s been pretty transparent that SK sits above others in the US’s own calculations about SK’s technological, manufacturing, and military capabilities with the financial wiggle room to back everything up. This is evident in how the US authorized nuclear fuel and the subs, and how recently the USFK Commander Xavier Brunson described S.Korea, showing a flipped map with Korea in the center: [https://www.chosun.com/english/national-en/2025/11/18/43OWPXDUO5AHPMJNZU3OF3EYA4/](https://www.chosun.com/english/national-en/2025/11/18/43OWPXDUO5AHPMJNZU3OF3EYA4/)

      >“South Korea’s geographical location has a unique advantage, as it is influenced by multiple competitive axes: North Korea to the north, China to the west, and Russia to the northeast,” adding, “Maintaining a posture that can impose costs on adversaries from any direction will strengthen the Korean Peninsula’s first line of defense.”

Not to mention, the trade deal with SK was concluded inn much more favourable terms than Japan or Taiwan. South Korea’s ultimate goal of self sufficiency (meaning less US influence in the Korean peninsula) and reunification with North Korea lines up with the US’s strategic goal of consolidating global commitments. The authorization by the US for nuclear fuel to SK’s nuclear submarines is also a large part of this plan.

Even though the National Defense Strategy did not specifically state South Korea as a „model ally“, the recent [Japanese Nikkei article ](https://asia.nikkei.com/spotlight/trump-administration/trump-s-national-defense-strategy-to-hail-south-korea-as-model-ally)clearly shows that SK’s strategy is working in lock step with the US. I think the fact that that article was published tells the real story of Japan’s growing insecurity when it relates to US, China, and Korea.

Same can be said with Taiwan as it reciprocates Japan’s stance against China and Korea. By hitting Korea and stirring up controversies (Dokdo and Taiwan’s autonomy), they are trying to appeal to the US that S.Korea may not be a reliable ally in the region. This hypothesis is, in fact, even more apparent with Taiwan when you look at how Lai sent out a support message for Yoon when he declared Martial Law.

The semiconductor tide has shifted from a semiconductor shortage in the foundry sector towards a memory shortage. SK Hynix and Samsung are pulling in 70%+ profits from HBMs and DDR5s, and both of their margins are expected to trump TSMC by 2027. Recent articles show that Samsung has pulled up its 4nm logic chip yields to 60-70%, 4nm logic die yields above 90%, and 2nm yields between 55-60%. They’ve recently won over Tesla AI5, AI6 with these improved yields. Meanwhile, there are rumors that TSMC is stumbling at the 2nm node due to the usage of the novel GAAFET node. I think this may be fueling Taiwan’s growing insecurity with S.Korea.

    3. Taiwan shouldn’t punish other nation for something that even they can’t 100% declared.

Like, even your politician not went all out against China because you know Hong Kong could happening again.

So why would other nation, especially neighbouring nation should get involved in your feud.

I swear Taiwan is the pettiest group of people I’ve ever seen.

At least with Jpn and China I understand where their hate comes from.
The Taiwanese will always tell you that it’s cause Korea severed ties and transferred their embassy to China, but they will never tell you that it was a „fuck you“ to Taiwan who cancelled their 16 Ulsan-class frigate order from Korea last minute in 1989, because Taiwanese politicians were hating on Korea saying something along the lines of „we can’t order frigates from an inferior country“. They had the audacity to do that to Korea when we were the last country to maintain diplomatic ties over China. Taiwan went for 6 Lafayettes instead which didn’t even come with weapons. Korea even offered 10 of the 16 to be built in Taiwan. Maybe if they took the offer, their heavy industry wouldn’t be in such a sad state as it is today.
Turns out there was a government bribe and the whistleblower for the Lafayette scandal ended up dead.

Then there’s the Taekwondo scandal where supposedly, the Taiwanese athelete wasn’t even aware of the new rules before stepping into the knockout match and was disqualified for it. The Taiwanese went out to the streets, bashed Samsung monitors, and burned the Korean flag. Look It up on YouTube. You know what’s even more funny? Not a single Korean ref was involved in that match. They were hating on Korea cause Taekwondo is Korean.

    5. Did Taiwan issue an official apology for the incident where it attempted to steal South Korea’s submarine technology?
