Representing a party that wants to remove your rights and deport you if they win the power…

Our acceptance of illegal immigration is the most egregious thing

Is he aware that his party would deport him if he lost his job, assuming he even has one?

He is on a student visa. Its nuts we allow non citizens to run for any political office. Though its not as nuts as allowing ppl here on a student visa to vote in General Elections. Just because they are from the Commonwealth…

V odd. He’s not even a citizen. The cynic in me sees a grifter.

Happy for Reform to piss off all the knuckle-draggers to keep the party out of Southsea.

I really don’t understand Reform, who is their target voter? If they are going after the people that want less immigration, or less „brown people“ etc, why are they doing this.
Maybe you could argue this sort of hire is a „look at us, we aren’t racist, we hired a brown guy!“ tactic.
But is that really going to gain them any more votes than the amount they risk losing by trying to pretend they are another centrist party that welcome „everyone“? Isn’t that exactly the party that Reform’s voters are fed up with?

I think Reform need to make it clear to the public whether they’re racist or not. They’re sending mixed signals and it’s really confusing their voters.
If they’re not racist, they should come out and say that they’re opposed to racism and welcome people of all races.
If they are racist, they should be open about it and say „I know what I like and it’s white, white, white“.
Trying to skate along the middle ground is diluting their messaging.

If I was in the UK to study and these racists showed up, offered me money to be brown and a walking plausible deniability I might consider it too.

At least he’s not living on benefits, so what is the problem?

You should not be able to hold public office in this country if you aren’t a citizen and if you have dual citizenship (unless it’s dual British and Irish citizenship).

I assume this guy is grifting the Reform party, in which case, good on him.

I must be living in an alternative universe. This can’t be real.

I don’t think non-citizens should be able to stand for important public office, but this is a local election, legal residents standing for that seems fine.
And there’s nothing wrong with a non white person standing on a position of lowering immigration or targeting illegal immigration and asylum processes. I mean, Patel/Braverman anyone?
The article here seems to have gone trawling the barrel scrapings of the internet to dig up some racist comments and manufacture a controversy, honestly.

Someone should explain to him that it isn’t necessary to campaign for his deportation. If he wants to move, he can just move.
