Laut Forbes ist Japan das neuntsicherste Reiseland, hinter den Niederlanden, Australien, Österreich, Island, Kanada und anderen (jedoch Platz 1 für das sicherste Land in Bezug auf Gewaltkriminalität).

For how they came up with this:
„We survey a large group of American travelers and ask them where they’ve traveled in the last five years. Only people who have visited specific countries can rate those countries on safety.

We then augment those ratings with other indices and information, including the Global Peace Index, data from Numbeo, and an average of the GeoSure Global scores of the major cities in each country.
From there, we blend in past results with the scores from outside sources and calculate a weighted score that reflects each country’s overall safety.“

    2. The factors come from Crime rates, terrorist attacks, LGBT acceptance, hate crimes, and how safe women and people of color feel.

Japan ranking 9th overall does make sense. It’s incredibly safe overall, but there’s the obvious growing antiforeigner sentiment, and the sex crimes along with how they’re handled, would logically bring Japan down the list a little bit. But I do wish the report was based solely on statistics rather than factoring in how people feel

I’m suprised that people are still falling for the bait from Kabukicho touts in 2025. Good rule of thumb: don’t go into a place that has someone outside advertising it. Good places don’t need them.

I’ve lived in both countries and there’s absolutely no way Canada is safer than Japan. Bullshit title/article.
