Our inflated GDP messes up all these stats. We spend loads on welfare in reality
anybody have a reliable source on the US number?
30% of gdp for social benefits?!
Wtf, this is proof that people will abuse absolutely anything if you give them opportunity.
But what does „welfare and social benefits“ cover? I’m sure it covers unemployment benefit, but what about healthcare, education, libraries, subsidised transportation? It would be good to know.
Nordic countries manage things very well, but France and Italy are not perfect and waste a huge amount of money.
Finally, a map labelled as ‘EU’ and not ‘Europe’
Estonia likes to compare itself to Finland. Uhm, yeah… not yet little brother. Not yet.
Don’t forget that pensions are counted as welfare spending

Is it govt spending or overall population spending?
Seems difficult to sustain as the population ages and militaries need to be expanded due to US/russian unpredictability
But okay I thought if you become a welfare state that your society collapses, everyone stops working, and then there’s way more crime cuz there’s no reason to be a good person or something?
