It’s absolutely wild how Trump will use language in ways that are entirely new and unique and wrong and it doesn’t bother half the country. I mean, we are all used to spinning bad news into good news, that’s just marketing. You could have a team of professional marketing executives crank out 300 slogans overnight to make the case that the economy is good instead of bad, but not in 10,000 years would anyone think up „affordability is a hoax“. It’s not even in the ballpark of options to put those words together.
Are people still showing up to listen to that blowhard speak?
If Trump continues on this course, this may be the one issue that breaks through to the cult. You cannot lie to people about how much money they have in their pocket. They are keenly fucking aware of that fact all the time.
You can lie to them about who is to blame for the lack of money in their pocket, you can lie to them about the reason for their lack of cash, but to just deny it as a „hoax“ is a dead end politically. He is gonna piss off even his own supporters.
He was better off with the „tarrifs are gonna hurt for a while“ lie, or the „blame Biden“ lie. But Trump’s ego is just too fragile, the economy has to be wonderful and it has be so only because he is so great. So he’s boxed in to this lie. If the economy wasn’t dying it would be fun to watch it all play out.

Typical narcissist behavior, not taking accountability for anything they perceive to be negative. It’s a hoax or the fault of Democrats, etc.
The only time I can ever remember Trump semi-apologizing for anything was immediately after Access Hollywood because it was such a damning news story at the time and his advisors told him it was a big deal. Like it would literally have ended the political career of anyone ever except for Trump. It’s still amazing how nothing fazes MAGA and they’ll put up with anything he says or does.
Dems turned against Biden after a bad debate while Republicans have put up with multiple felonies, an insurrection, among many other crimes and blunders.

I sm bother by the fact he saying commonly used words are new. This is scary on many levels. He spent a whole year saying he would make the US affordable again. I think he really cant remember the word affordability and thinks its a dem hoaxs. He saids a lot of words as new or that he created the world. I dont he think he will remember his name by next year.
