Danke.

In Germany, cars are considered more important than pedestrians in many cities.
So while parking like this is illegal – it is often not enforced.
The why is pretty clear, they didn’t find another spot and didn’t care enough about other people to park further away.
On that topic, certain areas are really inconvenient for tenants who own cars. Older ww2 buildings which have tens of households and no dedicated parking places, built next to one another. I live in one of those, and often I end up parking so far away that I have to walk back 10 minutes to my place.
Yes it is against the rules but usually the car driver doesn’t care and the Ordnungsamt doesn’t check often enough.
I am sorry and you are right, it’s agaisnt the rules.
Although some people seem to think, that they can park their compensaton device anywhere.
I like to remind these egoists with this: [Spuckieblöckchen ‚Parke nicht auf unseren Wegen‘ 75×50 mm – materialien fechenbach](https://www.materialien-fechenbach.de/produkt/spuckieblckchen-parke-nicht-auf-unseren-wegen/)
because the driver of this car isn’t really considering the society he lives in and obviously doesn’t care about people who need a sunken kerbstone. In Germany we call this, ein Arschloch
Because asshole. Not much more to say about drivers behaving like this.
Morons, that’s why.
