Meanwhile, Trump sends $45B to bail out Argintinian farmers from Trump’s tariffs, and $12B to American farmers suffering under Trump’s tariffs. They aren’t releasing job and economic reports which would show inflation and unemployment, they aren’t working with states to protect people, and they’re sending brownshirt goons into the cities to round up political dissidents while putting any political opposition on lists while blowing up fishing boats in Caribbean calling them „weapons or mass destruction“, flying fighter jets over Venezuela, and pardoning Honduran drug lords.

It’s everything poor conservatives wanted.

I feel like Mexico needs all the water it has.

I mean by my understanding it seems fair enough? 1944 treaty was made and Mexico is having trouble fulfilling its obligations so trump isn’t happy. You can be mad at trump for plenty of things but by my understanding this one isn’t even a trump thing. He didn’t try to alter to treaty from what I’m reading. it’s fair enough that any nation would be unhappy if another nation was failing their end of a treaty.

Today I learned that the US and Mexico have a water treaty established under the 1944 Water Treaty. Mexico is obligated to send a certain amount of water to the Rio Grande River while the US is obligated to send water to Mexico via the Colorado River over a 5 year period. Mexico is behind on their water due to the drought they experienced but they have to successfully argue its an extreme drought for non-compliance. For that reason, Mexico has agreed to send water or face tariffs.
