Russia catching up on the colonial atrocities
It’s well known that historically foreign military likes to use wars to have fun with anything illegal / immoral that wouldn’t be possible at home. This dates back even to the crusades and is especially true for countries and in particular their military which do not strongly emphasize moral conduct. Considering what is known about their training, this outcome is no surprise. Once again, African countries just replace one form of terror with another equivalent one.
This is what the Malian new leadership called for. Russians just do what they do best.
