I assume the Kremlin will not accept the plan proposed by Ukraine, and the current situation on the front will continue.

That said,Trump could restrict the sale of Patriot missiles and limit intelligence-sharing assistance, as his former aide is urging.

And,of course, Europe needs to find the funds to finance Ukraine and purchase weapons.

Ukraine doesn’t have a choice. They have already lost a lot of land that they will never get back. The Russians don’t care if the rest of the planet doesn’t recognize these annexed lands as Russia. They took it by force and they hold it.

People acting like if Ukraine pretends like it’s not losing land that maybe they will get it back later is laughable.

    3. The weakest and most pathetic russia in history have a vassal state in the face of the current USA administration.

Problem is USA of today is looking much much closer in terms of oligarchy ruling to russia than to democratic EU states or USA care to admit or accept.

By design and model MAGA USA is exactly PUTIN’s russia.

„peace plan“ = war plan = we fight until the enemy’s complete surrender

    5. Why the big holdup? The part of Donbas in question like ~6000 sq km, and on average they have been losing ~500 sq km per month recently. Not to mention the OG deal involved them gaining land in Kharkiv, etc.

Or is it more about not legitimising the gain by voluntarily surrendering it? If so I guess we’ll have to wait about a year.

    6. By not giving up land does he mean any land at all such as Crimea etc? Because although that’s morally correct it’s pretty unrealistic is it not?

    7. So according to a Politico article, Kushner and Witkoff called Zelenskyy after the meeting with Putin, expecting him to immediately agree to withdraw from Donbas and formally agree that the ZNPP is Russian. Yes, they wanted him to agree over the phone.

There are no peace negotiations. There is no peace plan. There are Russian demands, and possibly Russian business offers to the Trump Crime Family, and there is an non-neutral US that tries to force Ukraine to agree to everything Putin wants.

This is not exaggerated. That’s literally what happens. Kushner and Witkoff both have a profit incentive to let Russia back into the western market.

What currently seems to be happening is this: Putin knows Trump wants a deal asap, and he also knows the senile old man doesn’t care how. The Trump family gets money, Putin gets the fortress belt, a reduced Ukrainian army, and a chance to rebuild the economy before the third invasion of Ukraine.

Everyone will make money, and we will die. Great future prospects.

The EU needs to draft a peace plan.

A Ukrainian peace plan would never work; they have no cards. The EU, on the other hand, does have credible threats that can be used to push a plan through even without the US. Like those Taurus missiles, among other things, could actually give real leverage in negotiations. The only problem is the lack of political will.

I wish this peace plan circus will end soon. What’s the point of it, if invading side has no interest in participating?
