Trump has removed trade barriers for Nvidia to sell its second most powerful chips to China. In exchange, Nvidia is to hand over 25 percent of all proceeds „to the United States of America“. How significant of a blow will this deal be to America’s technological lead over China (in the global Al race for example)? Does this step constitute a betrayal to Trump’s America-first pledge?
