  1. I’ve got 3 friends living up in Hachinohe, very close to the earthquake. Pretty much the closest populated area. Hope they’re safe.

We have come a long way since 2011 and 2004 in terms of technological advancements, so let’s hope early detection and warnings are going to work here

  3. I always wondered how Japan handled these high-magnitude earthquakes. Hope everything will be alright this time also

Live in Aomori and have never experienced anything like it. Felt like someone put our house in a bottle and violently shook it

Just reached out to my family member to make sure they are okay, praying for anyone’s family members or friends who live there or near that region as well.

  6. Bad that it happens in the middle of night when many people are supposed to sleep and it’s difficult to run because it’s dark outside

Hope everyone in Aomori is safe

  7. I felt it in Tokyo. Was significant. All is okay here. Hope everyone else closer to it is okay!

  8. It’s scary to just read Japan and tsunami in one sentence due to the impact of their previous horrors. Hoping everyone’s safe

  9. Take care. There can be other events. I recall earthquakes from being a kid in Yokohama.

I just landed in Yokohama a few hours ago and see this shit. Wtf man

  11. Prayers for everyone’s safety! We had a 5.3 hit close to Lisbon a while back and that was scary enough, can’t even imagine a 7.6. Look after yourselves ❤️
