TLDR: owners don’t want to bring their car to service whatever reason
If you bought used, the recall notice might not reach you. Proactive checking saves lives.
This is another demonstration of why a near-monopoly on something isn’t great
I got mine done the moment I got the mailer. I do not fuck around with seatbelts, air bags, brakes- pretty much anything that’s not purely cosmetic.
