
Katalin Karády, ungarischer Filmstar der 1940er Jahre, wurde heute vor 115 Jahren geboren. Sie rettete im Zweiten Weltkrieg vielen Erwachsenen und Kindern das Leben. Sie wurde von der Gestapo inhaftiert. Sie wurde monatelang gefoltert und geschlagen. 1951 musste sie Ungarn verlassen. Sie starb 1990 in New York.

My greatgrandma was taught by Karády, and became friends with her. Not only that, but they were set to star together in a film but the war started and Katalin was later imprisoned. It is a shame, they would have been amazing together I believe. Nevertheless, ppl don’t talk enough about Karády.
