I see that this taxi permit is connected to Premium taxi AS, a taxi central i have never heard of. As a tourist it’s not easy to know this, but you should never use anything else than Norgestaxi or Oslo Taxi when in Oslo. Unfortunately the government decided to liberalise the taxi market a few years back claiming it would lead to more competition and lower prices. The result was what you’re seeing here, anyone not familiar with what companies to trust or too drunk will get scammed.

    2. November 30th was a Sunday so taxi would be more expensive on that day.

You don’t say where you took the taxi from, but Taxifix, the app that Oslo Taxi uses, shows that it would have cost 1200-1300 kroner from Oslo S to Gardermoen on that day.

What taxi company did you call? Did you enquire about the price before accepting their service?

ETA: I just caught you were seven people. That would make it a little bit more expensive, but not *that* much more expensive.

    3. I mean, something about supply and demand. Taxi is more expensive if a lot of people travel with it. It’s not rocket science is it? If it is ethical or nice is an other thing.

    4. If you had train ticket bought, try to make claim with train provider. May work or may not, colleague of mine got refunded from Vy for his taxi ride.
