Does this woman not know that our police force is very busy putting the homeless in jail?
Welcome to Malta’s multi tier justice system.
If you browse ToM long enough, you realise that heavy handed sentences mostly come down on foreigners and non-connected Maltese people.
And the sentencing variation between some types of crime is just abhorrent. Like – some foreign guy has too much weed. Straight to jail. Local connected man that hits and kills a pedestrian while going 90 in a 45? Several years later, small fine and license suspension.
Honestly, someone should flag Malta’s judicial system and its criminal code to the EU for an independent review.
Unless Tenyo’s family get political connections to rattle Castile/the political optics, I would expect this case to drag on for many, many years, and the final outcome to probably be a slap on the wrist for the driver.
Justice and Malta in the same sentence?
