If only there was some magical thing we could do to avoid this. /s

But seriously I understand this years vaccines are not a perfect match but they will reduce severity.

  2. Apparently the contents of this year’s flu shot was nothing but swamp water and pickle juice cuz that thing did fuck all for the flu A I have right now.

The new moderna covid booster tho, that was *chef’s kiss*. Had covid last month and it was a cakewalk, vs this flu just about taking me out. Just started tamiflu so I’m optimistic I’ll meet the diagnostic criteria for not being dead soon.

Got my shot in sept. but caught the flu two weeks ago. Just about over it. Had a really tight, congested chest and a cough that almost had me passing out. Quite scary.

I know for the vaccination they chose months in advance what will likely be the dominant flu strain and hope they are right, do we know if the vaccination is for this strain ? Do they announce that ?

  5. I got the shot in October and just got over the flu a week ago. This flu bug is nasty was a week before I felt normal

Man I got it this year, it knocked me on my ass for 10 days, and a week later I’m still having after effects like fatigue and a dry cough.

The worse thing is that is not just the influenza a/b, right now we are also having a wave of adeno/rhino virus and humanmetapneumo virus, which fall into the “cold” category and not a flu but vulnerable populations can get actual pneumonia from it and be really sick.
