Dominic Cardy has always been crazy, but because the Andrew Coynes of the world like some things he says he gets pushed as some major figure. They are portrayed as a serious centrist party, but he sounds more like Alex Jones when he claims the „UN is controlled by terrorists“. Evidently nobody wants what they are pushing as has been seen in their election results, despite what flairs here would tell you.
And are we headed for war? It’s hard to believe that when there is no obvious foe. Russia is a paper tiger, the West wouldn’t fight China over Taiwan, and we couldn’t be able to fight back against an American invasion.
Yes, if nothing is done, the war is coming. The Trump administration clearly spelled out that they want to take over Western Hemisphere as per just released 2025 American Security Strategy
The whole world is in big trouble
OP – What is your honest opinion of the author of this opinion piece? This seems to be the only commentator you post articles about, so I’m guessing you know more about them than the rest of us do.
First of all, we have been in a war in Afghanistan just a few years ago.
Second to this fact, is that the lack of a major war is really a relatively new phenomenon since WW2.
There are two reasons for this. The first being the nuclear deterrent and the second being the overwhelming military power in the world in the hands of democratic nations.
And, I’ll add a third. The willingness of the US to stick its nose into places around the globe with its military for better or worse.
This paradigm is changing rapidly. Diplomacy of course, but there has to be a deterrent so unpalatable that other alliances won’t step into war.
