i’s disgusting when you think about it. they hoard all of our data as wealth to sell and for control/dominion, don’t allow it back to us or to opt-out, then are doing lord only knows behind the scenes to psychoanalyze us for *reasons* and to extract more money for ads/agendas/etc.
it makes one think, to what end? why? and what don’t we know about humans or our brains that hasn’t been studied for thousands of years? what don’t they understand about being human, unless of course they’re not or not anymore.
I don’t know. Maybe they’re able to pull a world like that off, but I think the whole „you will own nothing and be happy“ is one in which the average person is forced into temporary solutions to their long term problems for the sake of enriching a bureaucratic/authoritarian entity.
It’s beneficial for the average person long term to be the custodian for their own data. The only reason it doesn’t seem that way is because most people like the convenience that something like „cloud devices/services“ give them.
