      Why is it that bad things always happen and good things never happen? Putin attacking Nato? Matter of time. Me being drafted? Matter of time. Putin falling out a window? Never in a million years.

      Back in 1986 we built a concrete tomb to seal off the disaster. Then decades later we added a massive steel vault on top to finally make it safe. Now war turns that vault into swiss cheese, the past keeps biting us because we forgot that peace is fragile.

      I’m seriously wondering if this is possibly a „scorched earth“ policy on the part of Russia. If they can’t take the whole country, then ruin the parts they don’t think they can negotiate for in any settlement.

      Its an attrition tactic.

      Russia knows that the west and ukraine are environmentally concious.

      If they breach the chernobyl containment and release lethal amounts of radiation into the surrounding countryside. Western environmental activists will condemn ukraine for failing to address the issue. And Ukraine or its supporters will be forced to divert billions of dollars from its war effort to repair the containment.

      Its a very smart strategy from russia and it will probably work because for all the mistakes russia made, one thing they were right about is that the west is decadent and weak willed.

      People who over estimate, the serious, but not insane situations around Chernobyl because they don’t understand radiation and people who got confused thinking this is a new drone strike, when this is the report on damage from the February strike.

      However, let’s make this clear. Fuck Russia, use the frozen assets to pay for the fix.

      Get big fans blow that radiation ☢️ towards Russia. The sooner they have to taste their own bad cooking the sooner Putin will fall. That is why I support long range weapons being given to Ukraine. Let them make Russia not safe anywhere and kick their ass. This is the only way as Putin will eventually run out of money/people and equipment.

      If there is no target in Ukraine that is off-limits, the Russians had better expect the same. Russia had better figure out now how much they are willing to escalate the conflict before it is out of their control.

      When can we get workers from Russia forced to repair this shit? No one else should be risking their lives there but Russians. They fucked it up, they need to repair it. If not done properly, they need to do it again.

      Man this shit makes me angry. These fucking idiots. They got more to make up for than they can in their friggin (half) lifetimes. Can we please finally get some action going that makes sure, that these idiots can not ruin our planet? But no, of course not, because frickin politicians are sitting on their arses. Everyone around the world should be sanctioning Russia extra hard right now, until they fix this shit.
