    1. Lol. „Oh we’re not in an AI bubble.. just people are investing haphazardly on something that will cost more than any company can afford, and will take more money than anyone is earning just to pay off the interest on that investment, much less profit. But no, not a bubble!“

Ok but also, they’re just selling chips, If they sell a lot of AI chips, and then the bubble pops. They still sold a lot of AI chips. It’s the companies buying the chips that will be in trouble

I’m pretty sure the plan is for giant corporations to implement AI and integrate it into EVERYTHING, then collude together to systematically remove all options for doing things WITHOUT using AI….and BINGO! Suddenly everyone is now dependent on their AI because there is no other option! AI just become „the way things are done now“ because all other options for not using it have been eliminated. Now we HAVE to buy it!

This is how other tech has been forced on us by giant corporations that control our lives, I can’t see them changing the playbook with AI.

    5. The companies that rely on selling components for AI don’t see bubble as if they say there is a bubble people will stop buying

Sure man. Nvidia financing companies buying Nvidia hardware and leaked OpenAI papers showing Microsoft paying in credits rather than money prove how money is being created am laundered here.
My salary also depends on AI stuff but let’s not be delusional.

“AMD and IBM’s CEO doesn’t …” implies that the two companies only have one CEO.
I’m no English scholar, but pretty sure it should be “AMD’s and IBM’s CEOs don’t …”.

    8. are people forgetting about spatial AI? weve barely begin to crack it and its going to require much more data than llms rhat just need text

Basically reading all these articles made me realise only one thing, I dont have job security weather or not AI bubble is real

    10. I understand why we need data centers.

      But…. so many?

They are building one in the high plains of Texas. It will have 18,000,000 sq ft of data centers. It will have its own nuclear power plant and generate 11 gigawatts of energy onsite.

There are tons of these projects all over the country.

      To what end?

Let’s say it all works. A.I. is a huge success. It drives cars and trucks, and all vehicles are fully autonomous. A.I. can successfully perform both high-level and low-level business functions, everything from data entry & customer service to analytics, actuarial, marketing, finance, legal & accounting. Manufacturing is roboticized and automated, and we have „dark plants“ where they don’t need to turn on the lights. Robots perform household chores, mow lawns, fix plumbing, wash dishes & laundry.

      And then what.

What does society look like? What do people do for money? Food? Health care? Day to day activities?

What is the goal of all of this stuff?

I mean that genuinely. I do not know the answer. Does anyone? We are heading warp speed towards this new future. What does it look like? What regulations should exist for the tech?

Are these conversations happing anywhere in any kind of meaningful way?

    11. „IBM CEO Arvind Krishna argues that AI is not going through a financial bubble…Krishna…is more concerned with the unsustainable infrastructure investments…“ 👈 Isn’t that…a bubble? Things with an unrealistically high value not backed by reality?

    12. One thing Reddit is missing about this doom and gloom AI bubble is that a significant amount of money is going into expanding the power infrastructure within the United States. That’s real expansion happening now. Even if AI goes away those upgrades and expansions will remain in place forever.

Data centers aren’t going anywhere anytime soon in our life. The data centers will be used. Guaranteed
