Wow, finally some transparency. About time we see what really went down.

We can make do with these for now, pending when they are ordered to release those Trump files, the version that isn’t redacted

Might as well just use black paper and white ink with the amount of redactions they will make.

    4. Ya’ll still don’t get it…we’re getting played again. This isn’t the win you think it is.

      > In its motion asking for the materials to be released, ***the Justice Department said it „will work with the relevant United States Attorney’s Offices to make appropriate redactions of victim-related and other personal identifying information.“***

      > The materials were available to federal prosecutors in New York who charged Epstein with sex trafficking in 2019, and much of the underlying material is believed to have emerged in the years as a result of the civil suits brought by Epstein’s victims. ***Those cases included a suit against the Justice Department for having failed to notify them of its non-prosecution deal.***

      > ***The government has similar motions pending*** in New York relating to the 2019 charges against Epstein and the 2020 charges against Maxwell, his accomplice. Maxwell was convicted of federal sex trafficking charges and is serving a 20-year prison term.

      > The Justice Department moved to unseal the transcripts earlier this year after receiving furious public blowback ***after issuing an unsigned joint memo with the FBI memo declaring they had reviewed all of the evidence against Epstein and Maxwell and that no other people would be charged in connection with their trafficking of minors, and that no additional material or evidence would be released.***

EDIT: Also this, pointed out by another Redditor:

      > Releasing the grand jury materials from [Maxwell’s] case, which contain untested and unproven allegations, would create undue prejudice so severe that it would foreclose the possibility of a fair retrial should Ms. Maxwell’s habeas petition succeed.

Call me a doomer, but this doesn’t mean shit, even if these files were being released unredacted. Nothing means shit until the client list is released, fully, to the public.

Why do I doubt we are finally getting answers? Because the powerful have so much to lose here.

This one could really end up being damaging to Trump. Dershowitz was Epstein’s attorney here and he worked to get Epstein the lightest possible sentence you could ever ask for. And then he ended up in Trump’s orbit to where he’s worked with him and defended him on January 6th matters.

Remember when Megyn Kelly called 15 year-olds “barely legal” and suggested that trafficking and raping them is permissible?

    9. Weird_Rooster_4307 on

That’s after any link to Trump has been removed from those said files. What about the phone records and financial transactions?

    10. This is worthless, but _probably_ harmless.

I have to say „probably“ _not_ because law enforcement might object to revealing law enforcement techniques. I happen to be a „security through obscurity is illusory“ kind of guy.

But if this, in any way, gets used as an **excuse to delay** the _actual_ investigative or otherwise _relevant_ files, then it _will be_ harmful. DO NOT ALLOW THIS TO **BUY TIME**.

But just to be clear: everyone is expecting the grand jury transcripts to be extremely _boring_, and it’s not likely to implicate anyone other than Epstein. We’re not expecting to see anything interesting …

.. and we’re all hoping to be wrong about that! 😉
