So the majority were part time but still much better than what was expected with gains in healthcare, social services, food, and natural resources more than offsetting losses in retail/sales.
Inflation slowing to 2.2% and annual average wage growth at 3.6%.
Anyone trying to twist this news into a negative is someone who is determined to have it fit their world view. Canada’s biggest trading partner has been openly hostile with trade policy for the last 10 months so this is straight up damn impressive considering how poorly it was expected to go for them.

TIL Canada has a higher unemployment rate than Brazil

This is a good sign. Also some of the work permits/student visas did not get renewed at the end of September. Which meant more employment was available for others

businesses are probably losing their TFW over stricter immigration policies and have to hire Canadians now, albeit they can only afford part time proper hire instead of abusing full time TFW. Good sign nonetheless

It’s interesting that it’s being reported like this (similar to the last one). It’s very misleading. This is primarily due to part-time work and also not within the core age groups.
lol inaccurate reporting just like how they “missed” 38% of temporary residents while doing their immigration levels plan but magically discovered it this week when the plan is now in motion and numbers have been set.

This only proves to me that Trump and his techbro cronies is slowly turning America into an employment graveyard. Been considering getting a job over the border, and atp I might do that next year

Hmm yeah a lot of season summer jobs just closed leaving many to go on Employment insurance… happens every year.
canada did it! mostly part time job increases during the christmas holiday season and most jobs added in hated alberta
Now whats the youth unemployment rate??
A ton of work permits & student visas didn’t get renewed and ended at the start of September
People forget that Carney has a PhD in economics. Despite the tariffs, Canada gained 54000 jobs in November with third consecutive increase.
Meanwhile, the US lost 32000 jobs in November because of all those chaotic universal tariffs and immigration crackdown.
Huge thanks to MAID /jk
