A federal judge in Florida on Friday ordered the release of grand jury transcripts from the federal sex-trafficking cases of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, ruling that a new law requiring the records’ disclosure overrides longstanding rules that keep grand jury proceedings secret.

U.S. District Judge Rodney Smith said the statute mandates the release of materials related to the cases despite the federal prohibition on disclosing grand jury matters.
