They would rather lose several countries, including a Big 5, than expell Israel just like they rightfully did with Russia and Belarus, I guess crimes against humanity don’t really matter when you’re buddies to the US

Israel really ruined Eurovision. Either way countries would have withdrawn, there was no good solution.

There was no vote on Israel, the earlies vote about the new rules and regulations had a condition that Israel would be allowed in the contest, as the new rules had been approved there was no vote about Israel, crazy stuff

This will harm Eurovision, but if the main sponsor decides to call an early end to their contract that could kill Eurovision.

Plus members like Germany said they would withdraw if Israel was excluded.

I feel like if the Israeli act a few years back had been allowed to withdraw when her song was blocked this would be less of a thing because at least *something* would have happened. But then the Israeli president got involved and now it’s a whole ***thing***

Damn, I was planning to go to my first Eurovision because I wouldn’t have to travel far (only about 250km), but now that the big bois are leaving, I think I’ll spend my money on something else.

I’m very delighted and also very surprised they stuck with their promise. A party is just not as fun with a fucking criminal paying for it all and dancing around like they own the place.

I hope Poland withdraws too. For obvious reasons, but also our songs are so shit and soulless this year that it’s just better to not even try. With all the other big countries withdrawn it would just be pathetic. Sucks that few of our main politicians in charge of foreign relations seem to be apologists, but people seem to be pretty fed up with Eurovision after last one

I will get heat for this, but at this point I’d rather they just shut down the whole thing. Eurovision was supposed to celebrate diversity while bringing different countries and cultures in Europe together via songs, but now has devolved into a politically driven toxic mess that fuels hate and division and music isn’t even protagonist anymore.

I believe this contest has outlived its usefulness, which is a shame but I guess that’s how the cookie crumbles sometimes
