Von Mark Zuckerberg von Meta wird erwartet, dass er die Ressourcen für den Aufbau des sogenannten Metaversums erheblich kürzt, eine Anstrengung, die er einst als die Zukunft des Unternehmens und den Grund für die Namensänderung von Facebook bezeichnete.
Führungskräfte erwägen mögliche Budgetkürzungen von bis zu 30 % für die Metaverse-Gruppe im nächsten Jahr, zu der das virtuelle Weltenprodukt Meta Horizon Worlds und seine Quest-Virtual-Reality-Einheit gehören, so Personen, die mit den Gesprächen vertraut sind und darum baten, bei der Erörterung privater Unternehmenspläne nicht namentlich genannt zu werden. Derart hohe Kürzungen würden höchstwahrscheinlich bereits im Januar zu Entlassungen führen, hieß es aus der Bevölkerung, eine endgültige Entscheidung sei jedoch noch nicht gefallen.

Finally. You know what. Metaverses and VR spaces like that were big during covid. And fell off really quick.
I think there is BIG money for a more powerful metaverse system like ready player 1 style. Or those animes with MMOVRs. But the hardware immersion just isnt there yet.
Right now if you follow proximity chat on TT or IG youll see the type of weirdness goes on there
Meta can’t make enough of the smart glasses to meet demand. They should move all of their resources there from VR.
Probably about time Zuck used his big brain power and rename the company from Meta to AI. He doesn’t get paid the big bucks for nothing.
I feel the biggest issue with Metaverse is that nobody fully understood what it actually is – including Zuck himself. It’s like „We’ll use VR and then…something something magic magic and users will love it.“
The problem with the metaverse wasn’t VR but having Zuckerberg behind.
I mean with how full hog Zuck has gone on AI, why doesn’t he just ask AI how to do it? 🤣

I wonder when shareholders get rid of him. He hasn’t done anything meaningful since Facebook. Everything else was bought (Instagram, WhatsApp) or stolen (Stories, Reels, Threads) from other social networks.
