Is there data on who used MAID for what conditions? There might have been a huge amount of people with suffering through cancer that opted to go first.

My Dad used our state euthanasia law for murder, he changed my grandpas will to specify wanting euthanasia, sold his house, put him in a foster home, and made a deal with the nurse to drug him, he was locked in his room, pushed in the dark so he fell over repeatedly, and then they killed him with an IV injection after the hospital said he was fit to recover.

Convenience euthanasia absolutely enables and encourages elder abuse from greedy and hateful people.

Yeah, this isn’t going down the path we want to be going down for humanity at all.

    4. ……….and most of the recipients received the treatment without even having to ask.

Euthanasia (or assisted suicide) should be a human right. Im glad my uncle had the choice to let a doctor kill him before his cancer did.

And i HATE the christians who are constantly fighting against the right of a person to decide their own death ESPECIALLY if they’re already chronically ill.

Not allowing them to die when theyre so sick and in decline is the same as torturing them.

The unintended consequences are always rarely thought about. We now have an industry for this in Canada. Think of what types of personalities the jobs created by this attracts for as well.

    7. In my country even DNR is not legal, but doctors do it anyway after doing for first time and it is clearly just this is it, give this person some mercy. Euthanasia should be a must in some cases.

It’s crazy because suicide is treated as such a serious topic. If you mention it online you get censored etc but here we are just offering it up like it’s totally normal.

Hell I think the option to end your own life makes a country far more free. Imagine government telling you you arent allowed to die. They need the labor and subjects. Canada isnt forcing anyone to die and having just watched someone struggle through hospice I really wish we had euthenasia options in the US for end of life care.
