If I had an euro for everytime Medvedev threaten us with war, I would have enough money to pay rent for a couple of months.
This is basically the perfect showcase of Russian foreign policy: They don’t want those assets to go to Ukraine not because they’re enemies, but because they fully expect that if they wait long enough they’ll get them back. The American election, the threats to the EU, the peacocking in Eastern Europe, the propaganda, it’s all attempts to basically make everyone else just kinda throw their hands up in frustration and gasp out „okay, fuck, man, whatever, just take it“, the ultimate tool of fascism.
But why are they so annoyed?
Russias stance is that Ukraine belongs to them, and that Ukraine doesn’t exist. So, in giving Ukraine Russias money, it should just be like giving Russias money to Russia, in the eyes of the Russians no?
