The early retirement package would mean the loss of a lump sum payment based on years of service. And the budget bill is unlikely to be approved by Parliament this year.
This is the way, let people retire 5 years earlier with a full pension, albeit a bit reduced. Better than them getting laid off at 55 or 60. Finding work at that age is nearly impossible unless you have special skills.
So we get to pay extra for workers to NOT provide us with work and services. Brilliant. Or we could pay a little extra and get work out of them.
