Wouldn’t it make sense of the whole of South Asia to get the Indian accent?

    2. australians want to be unique but everybody else sees them as british colonists who still speak with british accent, tho in future britain and australia will be more like united states

There’s no such thing as „Indian accent“. What’s usually provided is a North Indian (Hindi speaker) accent. Bengalis, Tamils, Kashmiris, Punjabis, etc sound completely different from each other when they speak English. In fact, for Google maps while in Kerala, I had decided to switch to British English since the „Indian“ one pronounced our place names far worse than the British one.

Kinda strange that in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka etc they use British rather than Indian? Surely the latter accent would be more understandable to them?

We need a new Treaty of Turdesillas that divides up the world in American accent Google Translate and English accent Google Translate spheres of influence

    6. It makes me sad that I can’t get detailed directions in my charming Australian lady voice. I did 5 years ago.

I mean in Asia(except India Pakistan) UK is very irrelevant. I heard British people are quite surprised and shocked after visiting Asia 😂

British accent from Cairo to the Cape. Rhodes would be proud 🇬🇧

    9. Wait, wdym no Google in Iran? Google is not banned and so isn’t Google translate. We use it without any VPN or DNS.

Lots of social media and other platforms *are* banned and require a VPN (reddit is one) but Google is fine.
