Ich habe ein paar Nächte damit verbracht, Flock Safety-Kameras zu filmen, um zu sehen, wie ihre IR funktioniert. Es stellte sich heraus, dass der IR-Blitz nur durch menschliche Bewegung aktiviert wird.
Mit bloßem Auge kann man es nicht sehen, aber Handykameras erkennen es sofort.
Ihren Dokumenten zufolge werden Frames, die nicht zum Fahrzeug gehören, von der integrierten KI herausgefiltert … aber die Tatsache, dass die Hardware bei jeder Bewegung eines warmen Körpers aktiviert wird, ist eine Diskussion wert.
Ist das bei ALPR-Systemen normal? Möchte jemand, der damit arbeitet, mitmachen?

So they are speed cameras? Or is there a more nefarious reason for them?
It’s way worse than just that. These things are easy to hack, store unencrypted data for longer than they’re supposed to, and a few other unbelievable things.

We have a flock camera system at my work, they are designed to pick up movement. Its physical impossible to distinguish a car or human walking on the software. Yes its weird, but this is how they’re designed.

They tried to get my city to contract with them and were turned down, so they went to the county who agreed to put them up. They’ve already been using them for stuff like arresting a Texas woman who they tracked leaving the state to get an abortion. This kind of stuff is dystopian levels of tracking.

I warned people before they were even set up about this exact situation happening. We live close to Idaho (one of the strictest states on abortion bans and they will absolutely do the same thing to their residents. They also are probably going to do the same to people who come here to buy and smoke legal cannabis if my hunch is correct.
It’s going to be an absolute shitshow, Idahoans come here every day because they make so much more money here than the federal minimum wage they are offered there. Now they’re all being tracked from the border until they hit city limits… and there’s 2 cities in the county. The one in between has the cameras up.

These should have never been allowed in the US. Humans should always have the right to privacy. Being tracked everywhere without the ability to opt out of their surveillance program is ridiculous and their should be push back from the populace. Safety cams my ass, big brother is watching you.
