Ich bin ein professioneller Kartograph, und obwohl ich hauptberuflich ständig Karten erstelle, mache ich auch viele Nebenprojekte mit der Kartenerstellung. Ich hoffe, von Zeit zu Zeit einige davon hier zu teilen. Hier ist eine Weltwandkarte, die ich im April erstellt habe.
Für dieses Projekt habe ich eine neue Projektion erstellt: die "Asymmetrische Monstrosität." Es ist so etwas wie eine künstlerische Aussage über unsere Erwartungen an Karten. Diese Karte ist flächentreu und in vielerlei Hinsicht genauso gültig wie jede andere flächentreue Projektion.
