Windows 11 braucht einen eigenen Windows XP SP2-Moment ohne KI oder Aufblähung, sagt der ehemalige Microsoft-Entwickler, der den Task-Manager erstellt hat

Windows 11 Basic, just a stripped down version with no bells, no whistles just a slightly refined version of Windows 11 IOT that’s what we want
ai should be a choice, not a requirement
If you haven’t watched his video on TaskMan, watch it.

Happy 30th!
I am moving to Zorin today. So pissed off by the shitty AI
Seems he didn’t get the memo yet. 120$ is 120$, personal data though, can be much more valuable to the right buyer.
Fuck Windows 11. Find a way to support 10.
An Os has no business doing anything but making my hardware play nice together and running „my“ programs.
Anything else is bloat imo, how many sneaky services and telemetry is Windows running constantly.
It is really time everyone just goes Linux and puts Windows out of it’s misery.
Yeah… too late. I’m migrating to Linux.5
It’ll never happen. Microsoft has been converting Windows into a data collection platform for years. They’ve invest so deeply into this business model that they are not going to stop. Sucks.
Honestly I treat my home Windows 11 computer like it’s a work computer at this point, in that I assume everything I’m doing is being monitored/analyzed. Only difference is that I can play a few games if I want and get away with it, lol.
It already exists and it’s called Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC
So glad Microsoft uses people that rely on ChatGPT to write its code.
Yeah, it’s infuriating. I spend more time deactivating/removing stuff after a Win11 install than the time it actually took to install.
It need to die, that’s what. Enough with the monopoly nonsense.
Linux is the answer.
What’s crazy to me is how little control they give you over configuration and how many “features” they forcefully push onto you AFTER paying $100-200 for a license
When you only need the headline to say ‚Oh, so Dave said it.‘
Its called Linux
Also fix search, let me move the task bar to the left or right side again, lots of shit to fix. But I rather use Linux.
I think the increased price of ram is really going to accelerate the distain for Microsoft.
They’ve made a lot of tech people unhappy over the years. But we’re now at a point where you have to have a more powerful computer with more ram just to run the operating system. I shouldn’t need 16g of ram to use word, excel and brows the web.
That’s what most work laptops do.
I have 64g of ram, but I can’t use it all.
You mean the former Microsoft dev who created Task Manager and then [scammed a bunch of people](https://www.atg.wa.gov/news/news-releases/attorney-general-s-office-sues-settles-washington-based-softwareonlinecom#:~:text=David%20W.%20Plummer)?
>None of this makes sense. How do you break basic features like the password icon or Task Manager when they’re used every day by the same employees who build Windows?
When clankers are doing a third of the code, that’s how.
Agreed. Most people won’t take the time to do it themselves and it’s tedious the strip down Home vs Professional.
Windows 11 NDS (No dog shit)
But then you realize this will never happen because how would making users happy get them more money?
Without AI or bloat, it would be under half the size.
Can we stop talking about Malware „I made Task Manager“ Dave?
The best OS ever was the modified Tiny7 (Windows 7 with all extraneous shit stripped out). It was fantastic, the golden age of driver recognition, solid GUI, great response times, low memory usage. Truly peak OS.
