Every time I start coming around to the idea of putting my toddler in nursery with strangers, something like this pops up and reminds me why I havent done so already. My niece is studying childcare and got a work placement at a nursery, she was given babies to mind before her background checks had even been completed, they were that oversubscribed and understaffed they didnt give a toss if she was a nutcase

Plus, what does a background check even mean? It doesnt mean you’re not a monster, it just means you’ve never been convicted of anything. I knew a guy who was arrested for having sick illegal content on his laptop. CPS took no further action due to some BS loophole so he wasnt even given a caution; therefore his background checks show nothing. He’s still a paedophile, they dont just stop being weird because they got caught once. Oh and heres the real kicker, he works in IT, often in *schools*
