    1. This article completely shits the bed by using another tired skynet reference when killer robots aren’t at all the kind of threat Cameron was talking about or why people are sour on AI.

    2. Doesn’t really matter how Hollywood polices themselves if any random person can replace their whole production pipeline with a text prompt

We don’t replace actors…in a movie where the actor is replaced by cgi….

Hollywood and self-policing? Like how Harvey Weinstein did horrible stuff for decades and everyone looked the other way? Yeah sure.

We’ve already seen AI actors getting pushed in the wild. If Hollywood doesn’t self police soon, generative AI could cheapen performance, erase jobs, and rob actors of their craft. Cameron calling it horrifying isn’t hype, it’s a warning we should heed

Should be more worried about the level of appalling film writing that Avatar : way of butt water, was !

Because when AI gets so good that anyone can pretty much make a film at very little cost, there will be some absolutely banging AI made films with amazing stories, and they are very afraid of this, no longer will someone need 100’s of millions to make a great looking film.
