What I wouldn’t do for another summer in Omsk…
It’s a shorter flight from London Gatwick to St. John’s than it is from St. John’s to Edmonton
I once woke up in St John’s and got a beautiful photo of the sun rising through the narrows. That same evening I got another beautiful photo of the sun setting on the boats in Coal Harbour, Vancouver.
Can confirm, Canada is a huge country.
I live in Victoria and Mexico City is only ~150km farther away than the capitol city of my own country. Canada BIG.
The first reaction was that Omsk is somewhere in the east of Russia… but the most unexpected thing for me here is that Omsk is in the western third of Russia. Beyond Omsk is another 2/3 of Russia.
It’s a shorter distance from Copenhagen Denmark to Peshawar Pakistan than it is Victoria to St John’s.
„Why don’t they just draw a straight line? Are they stupid?“
The amount of times I’ve had to explain this to people, remains entertaining.
