Shortly after COVID really hit and Costco started really enforcing masks (and the MAGATs went nuts about it), some 40 something douche was at the customer service counter next to us loudly proclaiming that he couldn’t wear a mask because of a „medical condition“ so he wanted to cancel his account in protest. My tiny wife, out loud, asks „Oh dear. Is the medical condition being a fucking asshole?“ He stared at her for a second, mouth open, and then the CS person said she couldn’t cancel the membership because it belonged to his mom. CS person kept a straight face until douche waddled out of the store.
I like Costco.

Costco calculated losing magas into the equation. We all did. There’s a reason your kids aren’t bringing the grandkids for Christmas. And it isn’t because “we’ve got so much going on.”

Imagine, paying taxes and getting government support systems that help you when you’re in need. They don’t have to call it democratic. It’s just making sure your own money is going back to you in the works of community and government assistance, rather than overfunding the military and ICE.
