Doing business with America is fraught with dilemma.

Selling them weapons systems knowing they will be used on a civilian population for whom habeas corpus has been probably illegally suspended, is not something that we should do.

Canada is being coopted by a rogue regime where the rule of law no longer applies.

We shouldn’t be selling or buying weapons systems from them.

The last thing Canada should do right now is turn down business with the US.

For the sake of our economy, we need the US to buy from us.

We need oil tankers off the North Coast because tariffs and the threat from Trump. We also need to do nothing to stop Canadian entities from actively feeding the monster and empowering Trump because… uh… tariffs and the threat from Trump.

If the federal government really thinks we’re at war, it doesn’t look to me like it’s acting like it. I’m aware it would be somewhat hard diplomatically to intervene in this purchase for national security reasons, but this is a guy who said over and over again in the campaign, quote, “they want to break us so they can own us.” Is an unaccountable paramilitary arm of the US state somehow not a national security threat if that’s your view? Or were you just playing politics when you said that?

If we’re at the point where we can’t say no to selling weapons to the American Gestapo because „someone else will make money off of this, why not us?“ then we’re completely fucking cooked as a nation and deserve whatever we have coming to us. I’m sure the RSF could use some gear too – where do people saying this draw the line?
