What does Equatorial mean in this scenario? They have land north and south of the equator, why aren’t they just yellow?

This is dumb.

Was at lunch the other day and asked. Which country solely in the southern hemisphere has the most people. First answer was Nairobi … yeah random, then Australia then Brazil (nope not solely). The reason I was surprised is that our work involves a lot of travel and the guy who said Nairobi ie not even a country had just been working in EG ( Equatorial Guinea)
Interestingly, the Tropic of Capricorn also passes through the city of São Paulo.

Ecuador passes through Peru

I was about to ask why is the UK yellow but then I saw Norway is also yellow…so I’m assuming overseas territories count.

There are a *lot* of countries with borders close to the equator. I had to look real close to check if you could actually draw a straight line through all the green countries without hitting any others.

A small part of Brazil is located north of the equator.

I would love to know what part of the UK is south of the equator.
Another crap map?

Countries in yellow should end their colonial bullshit, we’re not in the 20th Century anymore <3

Peru is kinda crazy. It’s northernmost point is just 2′ or 5km short from the equator

Majority are in the North.

This is the stupidest thing I’ve seen all day
The Equator line actually goes through a state capital in Brazil. [There’s a monument to it](https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco_Zero_(Macap%C3%A1)).
