If your religious expression is the sort of thing that would be covered by hate speech laws, you should maybe reconsider whether you’ve really properly understood the tenets of your faith.

    2. Conservative Translation; let me be a MF racist if I want to be while claiming European heritage religious right protection.

Oh but if a non-Christian religion did hate speech and it was exempted then Canada is bending the knee or something

Way to admit that religious people are often hateful. However, I still don’t agree with speech restrictions. Consequences for inappropriate social behaviour should be social, not legal.

Even in the nightmare land of modernity, It’s rare to see certain elements of the mainstream right go so mask off.

How could this possibly be an assault on „Free speech“ and more importantly, why should we care? What possible benefit is it to this country to enshrine the right to spread hate speech? Better yet, what value do the nation could any so called religious foundationally built on intolerance possibly serve us?

      >“Liberal-Bloc amendments to C-9 will criminalize sections of the Bible, Quran, Torah, and other sacred texts,” Poilievre wrote on social media. “Conservatives will oppose this latest Liberal assault on freedom of expression and religion.”

The Conservatives are arguing that people should have the freedom to say that gay people as a whole should be stoned to death for the moral difference of being gay…

…or Islamic imam’s justifying the possible future killing of Jews by saying „it’s in the Quran!“

The bar of „don’t advocate for killing groups of people based on characteristics“ is basically on the ground, but the Conservatives seem to want to bring out a shovel…

So if I create a religion that says „Kill all Conservatives“ I should be allowed to exercise that right?

Give your head a shake Pepe.
