Ich habe eine Tabelle mit den Fahrgastzahlen für das S-Bahn-System im Raum Boston erstellt. Es zeigt die Anzahl der Zustiege an jeder Station an einem durchschnittlichen Wochentag, unterteilt in AM (links/blau) und PM (rechts/orange). Ich habe dies mithilfe eines Python-Skripts (mit vielen manuellen Anpassungen in Adobe Illustrator) basierend auf dem offiziellen Datensatz der MBTA erstellt "Fahrgastzahlen im Nahverkehr nach Fahrt, Jahreszeit, Streckenlinie und Haltestelle."
Da ich konkret Daten aus dem Herbst 2024 verwende, tauchen einige Stationen, die damals geschlossen waren, hier nicht auf. Insbesondere Haverhill am Ende der Haverill-Linie (ein Jahr lang geschlossen, um eine Brücke zu ersetzen) und Silver Hill an der Fitchburg-Linie (während COVID auf unbestimmte Zeit geschlossen, aber letzten November überraschend wiedereröffnet) fehlen, ebenso wie die neue Verlängerung nach Fall River und New Bedford.

As someone who has commuted via this rail system, I find this interesting and well-executed. Only nitpick on the format is that I had to hunt for what the blue and orange meant (I clicked on the graphic before reading the text).
Hm… wouldn’t it be great if those two middle stations were… connected?
Without knowing much about the area, it’s interesting how the bottom ones are predominantly morning boardings but the top ones seem to be more equal morning/evening. Are people commuting to those stops for work or do the people who live there come into Boston more in the evenings for work or other things? Is this a weekday map?
