    3. Subjective poverty != objective poverty. Finns are resilient, yes.

      Imagine same income family/person, one is used to eat meat every day, one is used to eat rice, with whatever veggie every day. Now they both fall on hard times. Which will think more they have a hard time making ends meet.

    4. Quite easy when poverty is defined in relative terms: social security creates a kind of floor for income while non existent economic growth, high unemployment and high taxation guarantee drag the average income down.

      Yes, relative poverty can be influenced as much by dragging the average down as it can be by having the poor become more poor. Anyone eho understands how quantiles work should know this…
