    1. They never care about legality until it’s time to score points on cable news

    2. If they ring this bell – it’s either prosecution for war crime, for murder, or for both.

There have been multiple strikes. I am not sure the first one was legal. Multiple boats. Multiple strikes. Zero transparency. Multiple lives lost.

    4. Imagine believing for a nanosecond that they would hold one of their own accountable for their actions

Name one thing this administration has done that isn’t illegal. Good luck

US Senators who confirmed these fools should be ashamed of themselves. The “Chamber of sober thought” allowed a lush to drive America’s trillion dollar kaboom bus.

So then it didn’t happen. That’s what they are going to say next.

Love how ‘illegal‘ magically becomes flexible depending on the party letter

There is zero defence for drone striking these boats. Zero.

It’s murder, every single one of these strikes.

This is a police issue full stop. The correct and traditional method is to stop and board these boats. The PROBLEM was that it was hard to find them. Now that they have a massive navel presence in the area, it’s easy, or should be to identify them.

Regardless, Venezuela is NOT a major source of drugs into the US. It’s not along traditional smuggling routes. This is a manufactured crises.

What a black eye for America. Entirely self inflicted.

    10. Won’t they get around this by claming „The Supreme Courts says any official act as president is legal, therefore any official act by one of his hired proxes is also protected under the same princicple.“

the fact that this isn’t stated by the entire caucus is an indictment of the GOP.

The second strike was illegal. The first strike was illegal, too. A third one would also be. This isn’t difficult. You don’t use the military to execute civilians without a trial.

    13. So was the first. The judge didn’t even sentence El Chapo to death yet murdering 65+ ALLEGED drug smugglers is ok? FOH

It almost definitely was but only the most egregious violations of Geneva against the weakest countries seem to be prosecuted anyway so it largely seems irrelevant. I remember controversy over the Obama administration’s use of double-tap drone-strikes which were pretty well documented in Pakistan. A few which actually led to deaths of first responders. Russia, Israel, Ukraine (though always against military forces that could potentially still pose threats), Saudi etc. have all been documented (sometimes by themselves in propaganda they release of drone footage).

The failure of the law (IMO) isn’t necessarily just the failure to give quarter (which is still despicable), but the broad-stroke ability to categorize almost anyone/any group as a terrorist, thus allowing such action.

Trump will claim the order came from him and that he is immune to the laws thanks to SCOTUS

How about we use our massive, overwhelming, superior naval power to just stop the boat and find out if there are drugs rather than the low dick energy move of blowing it up and shooting survivors?

    17. It isn’t that the second strike was what made the action bad. Yes, that was despicable, but the initial strike was already extrajudicial, and most likely illegal. The second strike to target people was/is the action of a small man.

This guy blames Biden for everything just like the others, takes no responsibility.

    19. Roid-a-holic_ReX on

Can we start calling the American government what it actually is? They’re literally terrorists. This is terrorism.

    20. Utgaard_Loke on

I think both strikes are illegal acts. They could have been stopped. If the boat contained illegal drugs, they could have been arrested and brought to justice.

    21. clementine1864 on

The absolute hypocrisy of trump pardoning drug kingpins and ordering the military to attack Venezuelan boats alleging drug trafficking and killing those on board . It is apparent that trump as no problem with wealthy drug dealers makes is curious as to his reason for targeting others. It is not the drugs .

    22. Witty-Emu7741 on

1 strike indiscriminately killing all but two is fine, but that 2nd strike to finish off the other two is just over the line?

    23. GobliNSlay3r on

But… not the 1st strike? I’m confused. They still presented ZERO evidence these folks were up to drug smuggling other than „trust us we know“
