I suggest that you should explain what black means in Brasil so this sub can really understand the map and divide the map by Brasil’s five regions.
Also, a map of how much enslaved africans were brought to each state and another showing the internal migrations of the enslaved black population would compliment your map very well.
There was a Muslim slave revolt in Bahia in 1835.

Super cool. LATAM’s racial diversity is always impressive, especially the amount of people there that are indigenous and the amount of people that speak indigenous languages (unfortunately not many people in brasil speak indigenous languages). I would love to go to Pernambuco or Bahia once. Brasilians can somehow tell if someone is from the northeast. Northeast Brasil is a mystery. I would love to learn about Afro-Brasilian Macumba.
