      this seemed too extreme and racist af.

      so, I read it. the article uses intense wording, but it’s not about eliminating white people. it’s about upending the historical system of “white privilege”. kind of like saying ‚eat the rich‘, but it isnt‘ about killing the rich.

      If you haven’t, read about the author. There’s a good article in the New Yorker about him. I don’t really agree with his strategy, but he’s makes some good points.

      The most crucial aspect of his argument is that as long as you continue to view yourself as white vs black or vice versa, true equality can’t succeed and the powers that be will continue to have control over you.

      “The greatest ideological barrier to the achievement of proletarian class consciousness, solidarity and political action is now, and has been historically, white chauvinism,” Ignatiev wrote. “White chauvinism is the ideological bulwark of the practice of white supremacy, the general oppression of blacks by whites.” He argued that it would be impossible to build true solidarity among the working class without addressing the question of race, because white workers could always be placated by whatever privileges, however meaningless, management dangled in front of them. The only way to change this was for white working-class people to reject whiteness altogether. “In the struggle for socialism,” Ignatiev wrote, white workers “have more to lose than their chains; they have also to ‘lose’ their white-skin privileges, the perquisites that separate them from the rest of the working class, that act as the material base for the split in the ranks of labor.”

      Sounds racist unless the context its about race as being human construct. SO not about „white people“ bu the the classification of „white“ itself. Like the classification of „white“ emerged in the 17th century, primarily to justify slavery and colonialism. Its not necessarily tied to what land you came from and your heritage, it can be more about being considered as part of the in group. Like some Europeans or other could be considered white, with maybe darker complexations then others who arent like arabs.

      Like the whole concept of race starts sounding racist really easily, „what we will do about the whites? What will we do about the blacks, what will we do about the arabs“ like lets just not talk like this. And not just for political correctness or tone policing but because its an actually dangerous and exploitable/manipulated generalization easily made to dehumanize people.

      Why don’t you post the text in it’s entirety? You posted 2 cherry picked sentences to get the meaning you want. Well, probably not you, you just re-posted something and take it at face value because you have no intellectual curiosity. You could spend the 5 minutes extra to read the entire thing. It’s not about killing white people. It’s talking about how race how we think of it is a social construct but it’s treated like a biologic reality

      The gist is that race is a political, economic and social construct aimed at helping the rich elites establish a nice, controllable hierarchy and prevent workers of all colours from working together to overthrow their masters.

      THAT’S the conspiracy you dumbasses, divide and conquer. Always has been.

      Which seems to chime nicely with current events.
