It’s not like we ever stopped or even slowed trading with India or China over rights issues.
If there’s any real difference it’s that, just like on environmental issues, the Trudeau government talked a good game while doing little, while the Carney government has dropped the pretence.
The party that has acolytes who regularly craft fear mongering about China while we make concessions to the US?
And instead of driving revenues to balance a budget, we drop countertariffs and encourage the same privatization that compromises our sovereignty and made us vulnerable in the first place?
Or is it the party that created a symbolic document with a far right demagogue, knowing full well that none of the economic implications of that document will actually come to light.
That kind of realpolitik?
