This could be a real game changer for this country, as long as Labour can stick to their guns and push it through. Decades of growth, cheaper house and rent prices, increased productivity.

Don’t matter where they build , people can’t afford to buy

Problem is it’s green belt land and the locals don’t want you building there.

Most stations on the London Underground (tube) network already have housing (or other buildings) next to them. It seems like a desirable thing.

Before more green space is destroyed they should redevelop every abandoned building/industrial area.

We should build over the train lines with pV above the new buildings. PV power for the trains.
Go trains, go go go.

You don’t say?
It’s like Japan and Asia in general know how to run train lines. Even better is if the train companies can own the land by stations to offset ticket costs.

Sevenoaks is 25 minutes from London Bridge, yet for nearly two decades the plot across from the station main exit has been a boarded up hole. As in, an actual, literal hole in the ground with weeds growing in it.
How they haven’t let someone build an appropriately large apartment block, like the one about 200m up the road, is a mystery to me. Well. Not that much of a mystery.
I bet there are a bunch of places like this around the country.

As long as train prices come down to something like Germany levels (€58 a month for Germany wide travel).
