      Even if they see Maduro as illegitimate, that does not give them the right to blow up civilians, even if those civiloans are criminals.

      I am sure a military ship can force a civilian boat to surrender if intercepted at the open sea.

      If those are criminals transporting drugs, arrest them, show the world the drugs, and put them into jail. It would be in the interest of the U.S. as well as of the administration to interrogate those individuals and eventually uncover their networks.

      Double taps are illegal. Once the ship was destroyed/neutralized the survivors cannot be targeted. Hegseth is now on record of issuing at a minimum one illegal order(obviously likely much more).

      Double tapping is a war crime. So hitting a civilian vessel with no legal justification, and then hitting the survivors. Anyone following these orders deserves a war crime tribunal.

      So we’re okay with committing war crimes now? Unfortunately, that hurts our troops if we get into an actual conflict, because we can expect the same treatment in return. That’s a big reason why you don’t commit war crimes.

      Ive no doubt that all the pardons have been written so, these people will face no justice at home. Democrats running in 2027 must run on not protecting these people from extradition orders so they can be prosecuted by any nations’ courts where Hegseth has murdered one of their citizens.

      It’s beyond time the world reconvened to write new International Conventions about all these new bullshit legal crimes.

      Enemy Combatants, „anyone of fighting age“, people without uniforms yet fighting for a cause, strafing survivors, double-tapping emergency workers, white phosphorus used in dubious ways, etc.

      Enough with the allegedly legal PR spin. Make a clear set of international rules so that at least every country can kill survivors the same way, or ideally nobody can.

      Maybe one day we’ll see trials for all those involved in giving and carrying out the orders. Including the grunts pulling triggers. “Just following orders” is not an excuse for murder.

      Don’t forget the strike on a building in Yemen leaked on a Signal chat. A suspected terrorist went to see his girlfriend (allegedly), and they bombed an entire apartment building with people inside.
