Can we terminate all orders Trump signed with a sharpie?
No wonder the Trump administration quietly replaced all of the „identical“ Trump EO signatures last week.
How about all of them Trump signed with autopen? Or didn’t sign at all and had photoshopped signatures on them that were all identical… not looked the same but were literally identical?
Doesnt this risk setting a precedent that all digital signatures are non-binding?
Docusign, Adobe, etc… All could likely be easily be upended by this decision if lawyers want to get rambunctious (which they always do), could they not?
Autopen signatures are still legally valid, every president since Truman has used them.
He’s just using autopen as the easy excuse for undoing policies he was already going to reverse anyway.

2: Tons and tons of presidential orders have been signed with autopen; that includes his own from this and his first term.
