    1. I’d be interested to see the delta between this and the 2024 vote (prop 3, I believe it was)

I found it interesting that when California and Colorado both had referendums in 2024 to remove their marriage equality bans (incase SCOTUS were to overturn Obergefell), Colorado actually had *more* support than California. California passed their repeal at 62%, Colorado at 64%.

62% is also surprisingly low considering how polling data has trended (you’d think support would be at least at 70%). Kinda shows that California isn’t the progressive dreamland everyone thinks it is and polling data isn’t always consistent with voting data.

Anyone else notice, in LA, those super safe precincts for either side that look like a dinosaur! 🦕

    4. As a young-millennial Seattleite, the gay marriage cultural-political struggle of that era feels so far away now that it’s good to be reminded that hey, 2008 was *not* a long time ago, and this institution is still very much on shaky ground. If the Supreme Court was happy to dismantle protections for abortion, something that I also naively assumed had been set in stone, it’s perfectly likely that they’ll do the same to gay marriage next. Thanks for the reminder.

This just shows that racist hateful shit is always pushed in uninhabited areas thru out the country. So KARMA is their lives crashing with twitler’s policies. 🙂
