Very good watch. Very sad.
A complete failure of US and EU leadership. This could have been nipped in bud back when this all kicked off with the „little green men“. However, Merkel convinced Obama not to sell Ukraine any weapons in favor of a negotiated peace deal via the Minsk agreements. Even Biden failed with his slow trickle of support and restrictions on weapons usage. I’m not mentioning Trump because lol, let’s be real.

The part with the cameraman and soldier bullshitting about their university rivalry and the part with the soldier talking about taking up hand rolling cigarettes as a little thing to look forward to after the war only to reveal both of them died 5 months later is absolutely heartbreaking.
Watched this yesterday and no word of a lie it’s probably the best war documentary I’ve ever seen. Could even be some of the best combat footage ive ever seen. Youll recognize a number of videos youve seen here and it puts them all in context throughout the battle. An absolute masterclass in cinematography.
Its a heavy watch but we’ll worth it.
